Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove ions, molecules and larger particles from drinking water. RO has been a proven technology for decades to provide potable water in households and industries.
To curb the hazard people are suffering from by drinking contaminated water, Indus Aquatech provide solutions of giving only clean, pure and germ free water. Seldom it is said that gastric problems which are very frequent these days amongst people are borne out of consuming contaminated water. The quality of water is what Indus Aquatech is concerned about.
One method of reducing the Water contamination is Reverse Osmosis in addition to other scientific methods of cleansing water. We at Indus Aquatech concentrates that harmful chemicals are removed leaving aside the beneficial minerals required for human consumption.
RO is not only cost efficient but easier to maintain with very few moving parts making it easier to clean, remove pollutants and improves the taste and odour of water.
The main difference between osmosis and reverse osmosis is that osmosis is the process when water molecules are diffused form higher to lower water potential across a semi-permeable membrane on the contrary when water molecules are diffused from a semi-permeable membrane through a potential water gradient a less concentrated solution to more concentrated solution it’s the reverse osmosis.
Molecules are pass the semi-permeable membrane. The microscopic contaminants from the water are removed as the membrane works like the filter. In case of the drinking water systems, only they water molecules are allowed to be passed through the semi-permeable membrane and the other microscopic contaminants are siphoned out and flushed away.
In case of drinking water three cylindrical containers are fixed wherein one of them is the membrane and the other two are carbon filters.
In the first phase of reverse osmosis the purification of water reverse done by removing large sediments including the dissolved once and by reducing chlorine as the sediment are filtered one of the containers is sediment filter are carbon block. It also protect the membrane can be damaged by too much sediments. It is always recommended that water softener be a cube in case the waters very hard.
After the first step, the water is forced through semi permeable membrane which can also be termed as our RO membrane. The membrane allows only the water molecules to pass and larger molecules like sodium, calcium, chlorine, glucose, lead, arsenic, copper, nitrate and the total dissolved solids wherein the bacteria and viruses cannot pass. Our RO membrane forms the magical part of the RO system.
In domestic are systems the water is forced to pass through the second carbon filter which removes any remaining contaminant and the water is then collected for use in a storage tank. In advance are systems a final activated carbon filter is used to remove any remaining odour or flavour mixed in water from the storage tank so as to make the drinking water fresh.
The soft water is excellent for cleaning, showering and laundry. It depends on the hardness of the water whether it is fit for drinking. It is the total dissolved solids (TDS) which impact the taste of the water. An RO System is capable of removing the contaminants and dissolved solids making water after. The installation of RO systems gives better tasting beverages including the, coffee and crystal clear ice cubes. Therefore installation of an RO system is a smart move in healthy investment.
Reverse Osmosis is also a technique used to purify water collected from storm drains. The purified water is then used for irrigation and other industrial purposes targeting the water shortage.
Reverse Osmosis is used for industrial purposes for removing minerals from boiler water at power plants. The water has to be purest to save causing corrosion on the machinery. The deposits may result in poor working of the machinery or causing corrosion on them. For Eg: Poor quality of Water will result in poor performance of the industrial machinery thereby poor production.
Reverse Osmosis is widely used in food industry specifically dairy industry for production of whey protein. Reverse Osmosis being economical operation for concentrating food liquids. In industries Reverse Osmosis is used for hydrogen formation. Likewise, the Reverse Osmosis is used in Reef Aquariums. Ordinary tap water contains many chemicals and minerals and therefore, are not fit to be used in reef environment. Excessive nitrogen compounds and phosphate can lead to excessive algae growth. Reverse Osmosis is used and thereby demineralised water is produced for reef aquariums.
Reverse Osmosis is well acclaimed an increasingly popular method is used for cleaning windows of sky-rocketing buildings. Reverse osmosis is commonly used to purify the water and this purified water is then used to clean the windows.
Actively rejects ions and contaminants.
Reduce Water that meets the most demanding specifications.
Allow the membrane to continually clean itself
Higher pressure from the pump to push the fluid through the membrane.
Capable of rejecting bacteria, salts, sugars, proteins, particles, dyes and other constituents.
Works in various molecular weights.
